The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
The RCIA is a process that was promulgated by the Vatican in 1972.
The purpose of RCIA is to welcome those interested in becoming Catholics into the Church as well as to assist Catholics who need to complete their initiation in the Church by receiving Confirmation and Eucharist. The RCIA is a group process and involves a number of stages highlighted by liturgical rites to aid and assist individuals toward the final rites at the Easter Vigil or Pentecost at which time they will complete their initiation in the Roman Catholic Church.
Anyone who is in need of receiving the sacraments of initiation and sincerely wishes to deepen their spiritual relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ may join the RCIA process. The process requires attendance at a weekly meeting usually held in the evenings and typically starting during the month of October. The entire process takes several months through the Easter season in the spring.
The program is offered to adults (English and Spanish) as well as teens (grades 9 thru 12).
Please contact the Rectory if you have an interest in either program.
