Penance

The Catholic Sacrament of Reconciliation (also known as Penance, or Penance and Reconciliation) has three elements:

  • conversion,
  • confession, and
  • celebration.

In it we find God's unconditional forgiveness; as a result we are called to forgive others. (Copyrighted material used with permission of Franciscan Media.)

Confessions at Immaculate Conception are heard in English, Spanish and Italian from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. every Saturday, First Friday and the eve of Holy Days in the Upper Church.

A Guide to the Sacrament of Penance for Adults is available for your use.

"As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love."

(John 15:9-10)
