Anointing of the Sick

The Catholic Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, formerly known as Last Rites or Extreme Unction, is a ritual of healing appropriate not only for physical but also for mental and spiritual sickness. (Copyrighted material used with permission of Franciscan Media.)

Please call the Rectory to arrange for a priest or extraordinary minister to bring communion to the homebound. In case where one's health is seriously impaired by sickness or old age, please contact one of the Priests to administer the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.

If you know you will be entering the hospital for elective surgery, it is appropriate and recommended to receive the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick before entering the hospital. Simply ask one of the parish priests to give you the sacrament before admission.

Anointing of the Sick
