All Souls Day Memorial Mass

On Saturday, November 4, at the 12 Noon Mass, there will be a special memorial Mass to remember in a special way all those who have died during the year. The names of those who passed away during the year will be read during the Prayer of the Faithful. We will also remember all those enrolled in the All Souls Remembrance and all those enrolled in our Purgatorial Society. All Souls Day envelopes have been placed around the church for those who wish to enroll their deceased loved ones so they may be remembered at all Masses offered in our parish during the month of November as well as all the Masses offered on All Souls Day.

Anointing of the Sick

The church believes that among the seven sacraments there is one especially intended to strengthen those who are being tried by illness: The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Like all sacraments, the Anointing of the Sick is a liturgical and communal celebration, whether it takes place in the family home, or a hospital or church, for a single sick person or a whole group of sick people. We encourage parishioners who have become seriously ill, or have been weakened through old age, or who face surgery for a serious illness to be anointed.

Anointing of the Sick will be on Saturday, October 21 at the 9:00 a.m. Mass. During the Mass our parish priests will move from pew to pew anointing each person with the Oil of the Sick. We ask those to be anointed to sit in the front section of the church, leaving a pew vacant in between. Family members are encouraged to provide transportation and offer the support of their presence.
